Thomas Jeneson BSc (Hons) Podiatry MChS, H.C.P.Cr, BSc (Hons) Sports & Exercise Science, studied first at Sheffield Hallam University reading Sports & Exercise science specialising in injury management & prevention through the use of biomechanical motion analysis, which lead on to his second degree at Salford University in Podiatry.
Thomas currently works privately and through the NHS, covering various aspects of Podiatry including:
- Conservative footcare (Chiropody services, nail cutting, corn an callus reduction)
- Nail surgery
- Gait analysis and orthotic intervention
- Working with high risk patients preventing/managing ulcers
Thomas offers treatment of common skin problems affecting the feet including callus and corn reduction, verrucae treatment and the treatment of athletes foot (fungal skin infection).
Nail conditions that Thomas offers treatment of include conservative management or surgery of in-growing toe nails, fungal nails and the reduction of thickened nails.
Thomas also offers a holistic treatment programme for patients with diabetes including regular diabetic assessments of the lower limb, acupuncture especially for the management of Neuropathy (loss of sensation or numb/tingly feelings in the feet), routine podiatry treatment and advice for the prevention of ulcers.
With a background in Sport & Exercise Science Thomas also offers treatment of sports injuries using various taping methods, acupuncture/acupressure, biomechanical assessment and orthotic intervention with the use of off-the shelf and custom made orthotics. Thomas also applies these treatments to children’s feet problems including curly toes, flat feet, in/out toeing and tip-toe walking.
Thomas is qualified to provide Podiatry specific acupuncture in traditional Chinese medicine for general well-being and Neuropathy and also modern trigger point therapy for treatment of various aches & pains and sporting injuries.
